Free Food During Tough Times

Hard times got you down? In an effort to alleviate the stress of unemployment and the bad economy, some companies are offering free food to customers.

One such company is Subway, which is offering free breakfast to Southern California peeps from 7-11 a.m. today only. This deal consists of a breakfast melt and an 8-oz coffee, worth around $2.50. And the best part thing about this deal is there is no purchase necessary. Just stroll into any Subway and ask for your free meal. Nicely, of course.

Free food has been a growing trend these past few months. Recently, several companies took part in Tax Day Freebies, helping stressed out taxpayers trying to meet the April 15 deadline. Starbucks offered free coffee if you brought in your own mug.

Dunkin Donuts gave a free donut with purchase of a cup of joe. If you’re not into coffee, Jamba Juice had buy one, get one free on their healthy drinks. Drinks not filling enough? Boston Market gave you a free meal with your meal. In the mood for a sit down restaurant? P.F. Chang’s had a 15% discount on all meals. Talk about some sweet deals.

So, keep an eye out for free meals coming your way. Some great resources are Twitter, Facebook, Savings.com, and just plain word of mouth.
